Police cordoned off Gorton Street this morning after the body of a young woman was found
Two men have been arrested after the body of a young woman was found in Blackpool.
Police were called to Gorton Street at around 9.30am today (15 August) after reports of a sudden death. They attended and found the body of a woman in her 20s. They cordoned off the area and the ambulance service were also in attendance.
The death is being treated as unexpected, but at this time it is not being treated as suspicious.
Despite this, police have arrested two men in their 60s on suspicion of supplying a controlled drug.
A spokesperson for police said: "Emergency services were called to Gorton Street, Blackpool at about 9.30am today (Thursday, August 15th) following reports of a sudden death.
"Officers attended and sadly found the body of a women in her 20s. The death is being treated as unexpected and is under investigation but is not deemed to be suspicious at this time.
"Two men both in their 60s have been arrested on suspicion of supplying a controlled drug.
"Enquiries are continuing."
