A street in Blackpool was cordoned off this morning after police were called to reports of a body being found.

Images shared with The Blackpool Lead showed Lancashire Constabulary and North West Ambulance Service in attendance at Gorton Street at around 11am today (15 August).

Two ambulances and five police vehicles can be seen and the area is cordoned off while investigations take place.

The Blackpool Lead understands that a body has been discovered in the area, although it is currently unclear if the circumstances are thought to be suspicious or if any arrests have been made as a result.

We will provide more details on this incident when they become available.
