Scam message targeting drivers at Blackpool car parks

Motorists using Blackpool car parks have been warned about scam text messages. 

Blackpool Council has issued an alert about the false messages which indicate someone has received a parking penalty charge notice - when they haven't. 

A spokesperson for the council said: "We're aware that people are receiving text messages regarding parking fines at some of the car parks in Blackpool. 

"These are not genuine. Please do not click on the links on these texts." 

The Blackpool Lead asked for an example of one of the messages received, which can you can see below. 

They are all arriving by SMS text message.

Anyone who receives one of the scam texts is asked to report it to Action Fraud.
