Help us keep bringing underreported stories to Blackpool and continue our weekly newsletter.
The Blackpool Lead has been running for nine months now with a goal of delivering in-depth, thoughtful and constructive journalism.
Much of the journalism about Blackpool focuses on the bright lights of our town as a resort but sometimes this means it doesn’t scratch beneath the surface.
Our investigations into Blackpool Victoria Hospital, the Multiversity project, life for young women in Blackpool, the disorder of 3 August, election candidates, and pollution in our water have been delivered thanks to our fierce commitment to reporting on issues that matter most to people who make Blackpool their home.
We also held two general election hustings - so people could ask the questions that matter most to them to their future MP - and delivered 20,000 newspapers to doorsteps.
All of this has been delivered to readers - centred around our weekly newsletter - for free.
But skilled and persistent journalism isn’t free - and we’ve little desire to load our site up with ads and chase the most readers possible at the expense of quality.
You can help keep The Blackpool Lead free, independent and in-depth by taking up one of our options for support.
From £5 a month, a regular donation to The Blackpool Lead would power our work for a touch more than the cost of a brew from a chain.
Alternatively, one-off contributions can be made or you can grab a Save Blackpool Rock tee or tote bag from our merch shop.
Thank you for your support,
Ed & Luke
