Ride The Lights returns as thousands of cyclists are expected to pedal down the prom.
Taking place during the evening of Tuesday (27 August) the now annual event is a popular way to see the Illuminations before the big switch on during Friday 30 August in Blackpool.

Ride The Lights is a free event, the only cost is getting yourself there.

You can Ride The Lights from 7pm to 10pm on Tuesday 27 August.
The Ride The Lights route goes from Starr Gate in South Shore to Red Bank Road in Bispham. You can join the route at any point between these two points - and it's up to you whether you do the full thing or just a section.
The full route is around six miles
Yes, the Prom is closed to traffic for the duration of Ride The Lights. It re-opens at 10pm on the Tuesday 27 August.
All bikes involved must have one white light at the front and one red light at the back. You should wear a cycle helmet.
A responsible adult must accompany all children.
Marshalls and First Aiders are along the route, along with 'Bike Doctors' who can deal with punctures and break downs.
Those cycling are reminded the tram service continues throughout Ride The Lights and extra care should be taken in the area around North Pier and Metropole Hotel.
There's a full list of car parks on the Blackpool Council website, the car parks closest to South Shore tend to fill up first.
There's an overspill car park being operated at the P2 car park at Blackpool Airport and is £5 per vehicle using PayByPhone and is open from 4pm to 11pm on Tuesday 27 August. However, no park and ride service is operated from the P2 car park so it is either a bus from Squires Gate Lane or Squires Gate tram stop or a ten minute walk to the start of Ride The Lights.
