Landing on doormats will be 200,000 newspapers across the North of England with in-depth coverage of the big election issues, local candidates, features and opinion.

Throughout 2024 we've launched The Lead in Blackpool, Bolton, Stoke-on-Trent, Teesside, Hyndburn, Warrington, Altrincham & Sale, Bury, Burnley, Rossendale and Lancashire.

Publisher of The Lead, Mike Harris, said: "We are experimenting with how print products can be part of the future media ecosystem. Delivering 200,000 newspapers to places and households who may no longer have a delivered local newspaper is part of The Lead’s mission to deliver powerful journalism, from some of Britain’s best local journalists, to the communities they live in. I’m delighted this issue is now out, and if you have views on what we’re doing, please do be in touch.”

Editor of The Lead (North), Ed Walker, added: "Bringing together our writing from both local correspondents and our national writers into a new and exciting print product helps give people a flavour of what they can expect to receive in our email newsletters and ensures difficult issues are being tackled in a constructive way ahead of the election.”

The editions are going to tens of thousands of households across the North during Wednesday 26 June to Friday 28 June - and in Lancashire a special edition of The Lead is appearing in supermarkets the length and breadth of the county.

It follows The Lead’s first editions in early 2024 in Blackpool, Stoke-on-Trent, Bolton and Teesside - and means The Lead will have printed a total of 250,000 newspapers this year.

And more than 50,000 people are now receiving The Lead’s stable of local and national email newsletters, with original features and more - you can sign up for free to receive it each Saturday.
