The Hyndburn Lead launches soon and we want you to be a part of it.

Over the coming weeks we will scrutinise, investigate and inform on the big issues across Accrington and its surrounding area.

The first weekly newsletter will land for subscribers on Thursday, 25 April. It will then be sent weekly along with a free newspaper for The Hyndburn Lead being delivered to 10,000 homes across the borough.

Among the issues we will be covering are current events at Accrington Stanley, plans from the Issa Foundation for a Memorial Garden and Cemetery off Blackburn Road, the death of a man at Church & Oswaldtwistle Station, the upcoming local elections and Accrington Market.

We also want to know what you, our readers, want us to cover in Hyndburn. You can get in touch at [email protected]

Every Thursday you will receive an in-depth feature or investigation, along with our recommendations for things to do in the next seven days, and things written elsewhere about Hyndburn that we think are worth your time.

We will be working closely with Oswaldtwistle-based journalist George Francis Lee to bring you The Hyndburn Lead.

George said: "Hyndburn is my home. People from smaller northern towns have come to expect a level of disinterest from the media and typical local newspaper models are challenged. We can start to offer something new with The Hyndburn Lead.

“I’m excited for The Hyndburn Lead to produce journalism as interesting and varied as the towns and people that make up our district.”
